Presenting – 19 Isabel St, Belmore. About 15kms from the city and 550 metres (7 min walk) to Belmore train station. This picture perfect federation has 4 beds, a pool (with a fence) and is north facing. I’ll come to the part about what and where is Belmore after I tell you this house would be twice as much in another suburb. It’s about taking a risk and seeing the potential for a lovely house in a different area.
All looks very nice.. The next series of photos I had to put in a gallery.. it’s all a bit bright in black and white.
But the bones are there sweeties! all those gorgeous period details. You could totally Scandi this place up but first you have to deal with those tiles. Alice and the rabbit will come wandering past looking for the Mad Hatter in this house.
I’m suspicious of this room. It could be a great family room leading out to the north facing backyard and the ceiling is a lovely timber, but the blinds and curtains are all pulled up and the doors are all glass sliding ones. Looks like it was done cheaply.
Neat but dull patio. Needs some plants undercover. Put timber flooring over those ghastly tiles. I love the set up of the backyard. Lots of fun playing here.
According to Planning Alerts (a site which SFH loves) they complied and put in a pool fence earlier this year. Not my choice of fence but the pointy bits are good for hanging wet towels and cossies on.
Floor plans show only one inside bathroom with one outside. There are no photos of the bathroom (which probably has black and white tiles) so it’s probably small. I would look at turning Bed 1 into a big bathoom and turing the old bathroom into a laundry/ inside spare toilet.

Belmore is well ahead of most of Sydney for education, train links and – its highest score – telecommunications coverage. It outperforms most of its region overall, despite receiving low marks for open space and tree cover.
There are three sports fields down the road. The street is tree lined and spacious.
Belmore is out of the box for someone living in the inner west or a family cramped in an apartment. It could be the new Ashfield, which is the new Dulwich Hill, but regardless it does represent very good value.
Also you will be the only ones in your street with a swimming pool so you’ll make friends easily.
Commute lines. Work is set to Martin Place. An easy train ride to the city.
